COPTERSAFETY APPOINTS EETU PEURANIEMI AS CHIEF FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR

Mar 2, 2026

Coptersafety is pleased to announce the appointment of Eetu Peuraniemi as the new Chief Flight Instructor, succeeding Martin Berner who has been in the role since 2022.

Martin Berner has been with Coptersafety for over a decade, and for the last four years acted at Coptersafety's Chief Flight Instructor. Martin has announced that he is stepping down from his role of Chief Flight Instructor. He will continue as an AW139 TRI / TRE freelancer to ensure a smooth transition and handover of the Chief Flight Instructor position.

Martin shared “I have been happy to witness the continuation of Coptersafety as a reliable provider of flight training services. We have a great team to achieve all of this. For my part, the time to hand over duties to my successor coincides also naturally with the development phase which lies ahead.”

“I want to thank Martin for his contribution as a CFI to Coptersafety. Your dedication and efforts are deeply appreciated,” stated Mikko Kallio, Coptersafety’s Head of Training.

Eetu Peuraniemi, who has been Coptersafety Lead H145 TRI, will now take on the role of Coptersafety’s Chief Flight Instructor. Eetu has been part of Coptersafety for over a decade in various roles, including as Head of Training from 2015 to 2017, freelance AW139 TRI / TRE, and, as previously mentioned, the Lead H145 Instructor.

Beyond Coptersafety, Eetu has an extensive career as a pilot, flight instructor, and commander in Search and Rescue, Offshore, and HEMS operations. His experience has provided a deep understanding of Coptersafety’s customers’ needs and continuing to support the mission in helping helicopter operators minimize safety risks through simulator training.

“I’ve been at Coptersafety for over a decade, strengthening the skills of pilots around the globe. As CFI, I’m focused on following the industry’s development and regulatory aspects to ensure we are always “one step ahead of reality”,” Eetu stated. “I look forward to working with our training staff to continuously strive to provide our clients the skills and knowledge required to identify the risks and handle the potential events in their areas of operation in aviation.”

Mikko shared that “I am pleased to welcome Eetu as a CFI. His long career as a pilot in the industry as well as his vast instructor experience in several roles at Coptersafety will give him a perfect background to successfully manage his new role!”

Eetu will take on the role of Chief Flight Instructor effective immediately.
