COPTERSAFETY EXPANSION OF THEIR FAA PROGRAM
Coptersafety has been actively expanding their FAA training program to provide more training opportunities to FAA-licensed pilots from around the globe.
“We have been closely coordinating with the FAA for years to continue expanding our FAA approved training programs. Coptersafety is the first and only independent international helicopter simulator Part 142 Training Center in Northern Europe. We can serve our current customers with FAA-certified training and offer our future customers opportunities to obtain their FAA ATP Certificates, Type Ratings, and Recurrent Training in our state-of-the-art Training Center and simulators,” states Matt Presnal, Coptersafety’s Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor.
Coptersafety is an independent helicopter pilot simulator training center for commercial, government, and private operators flying H125, H145, AW139, and AW169 helicopter types. In line with their mission to improve safety in the rotor-wing industry, Coptersafety continuously aims to improve and standardize training. While also fulfilling the demands of operators worldwide.
Under the Part 142 program Coptersafety provides AW139 Type Rating, ATP, or Recurrent training courses, as well as H145 Initial, Airline Transport Pilot, and Recurrent training courses.
Coptersafety’s H145 D-2, CAE AW139, and TRU AW139 full-flight simulators are Level-D qualified by the FAA’s National Simulator Program. A Level-D qualification is only assigned to full-flight simulators that meet the highest standards. Presnal shares that “we are proud that our H145 D-2 simulator is the first one qualified by the FAA outside of the United States, as well as the first H145 D-2 qualified for NVG training tasks outside of the United States.”
Coptersafety’s H145 Level-D full flight simulator is currently equipped with Helionix Step 2 avionics, the CAE AW139 Level-D full flight simulator is currently equipped with Phase 5 avionics, and Coptersafety’s TRU AW139 Level-D full flight simulator is currently equipped with Phase 7 avionics.
The full flight simulators offer an immersive and realistic training, with features such as as cockpit vibration, smoke generation, 3D clouds, night, and NVIS/NVG visual scenes. Coptersafety’s in house modeling team provides customization for scenarios in known geographical locations.
Pilots and crews can now book to train in the FAA qualified Level-D full flight simulators for all their training, testing, and checking, as well as NVG training tasks, among others.
The Coptersafety team is available at Heli-Expo 2024 in Anaheim, California at booth 6926 to discuss their FAA program and courses utilising simulator training.
Coptersafety’s Training Center is easily accessible from North America, Asia, and the Middle East with its convenient location only four minutes from Helsinki International Airport in Finland. In addition to being an FAA Part 142 Training Center, Coptersafety is an EASA Approved Training Organization, UK CAA Approved Training Organization and a GACA approved Training Center, among others.
