COPTERSAFETY ORDERS NEW AW139 FULL FLIGHT SIMULATOR FROM TRU SIMULATION

Coptersafety and TRU Simulation signed an agreement for a new AW139 Level D Full Flight Simulator (FFS) for Coptersafety’s facility in Finland adjacent to Helsinki International Airport.

This is the second AW139 Full Flight Simulator from TRU Simulation for Coptersafety’s training center. Similar to Coptersafety’s first TRU-built AW139 Phase 7 FFS, this device will be equipped with a vast number of mission featuresincluding advanced avionics, realistic flight dynamics and high-fidelity visual systems that replicate operational environments. Enhanced with motion, vibration cues and smoke generation, the simulator delivers an immersive, scenario-based training platform that helps pilots prepare for offshore, search and rescue (SAR), emergency medical services (EMS) missions and more – all within a controlled setting.

“I’m happy to announce that Coptersafety has been able to secure this additional capability to its growing fleet of simulators,” said Toni Rönnberg, Coptersafety COO. “This is to ensure we can continue serving the growing demand of our customers with the best quality of training.”

“We’re pleased to continue supporting Coptersafety’s training programs with another AW139 simulator, designed to meet the highest level of qualification,” said Vance Ontjes, director, sales and customer service, TRU Simulation. “This next-generation device reflects our commitment to advancing pilot readiness through immersive and realistic simulation that is tailored to Coptersafety’s specific needs.”

The AW139 Full Flight Simulator will be qualified to Level D status by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), along with other major aviation authorities. The new simulator is planned to be ready for training during the first half of 2027.
