COPTERSAFETY ORDERS TWO NEW FULL FLIGHT SIMULATORS FROM REISER SIMULATION & TRAINING

COPTERSAFETY ORDERS TWO NEW FULL FLIGHT SIMULATORS FROM REISER SIMULATION & TRAINING

Coptersafety and REISER Simulation and Training GmbH (REISER) have signed an order agreement for two new Level D Full Flight Simulators for Coptersafety’s facility adjacent to Helsinki International Airport. The new simulators will expand on Coptersafety’s current selection of Airbus Helicopters aircraft models.

Coptersafety has ordered a H175 Full Flight Simulator. This will be one of the first H175 Level D Full Flight Simulators for commercial use. Coptersafety H175 FFS will be equipped with the latest version of Helionix and will include all relevant supplements and features for typical offshore and SAR missions.

Additionally, a second H145 Level D Full Flight Simulator will be added to Coptersafety’s fleet to meet the demands for training from H145 operators. Coptersafety’s new H145 D3 FFS will also be equipped with the latest version of Helionix. The configuration of the simulator will support typical HEMS and other operations, such as hoisting missions.

“I’m thrilled to announce this project in cooperation with REISER. The Airbus Helicopters’ H145 fleet is quickly growing and so is the need for additional H145 simulator training capacity. As our next new simulator type, we’ve chosen the Airbus Helicopters’ H175 due to the growing fleets of super-medium types. With these new simulators, we will extend our customer base to a new type and add much-needed capacity to the H145 training market. Both FFS will have a wide selection of options and features with the newest versions of avionics to ensure that our customers can have the best possible training available in the market.” says Toni Rönnberg, COO of Coptersafety.

”We are absolutely proud to provide Coptersafety with an additional H145 Level D full-flight simulator. This cooperation not only reflects the trust in our capabilities but also underscores the quality and experience we bring to the table,” says Dr. Johannes Hain, CEO of REISER Simulation and Training. “But what sets this project apart is the H175 simulator – a pioneering leap for both companies. Developing one of the world’s first H175 Level D full-flight simulators from the ground up is not just an engineering achievement—it is a statement of what is possible when innovation meets purpose. We are doing something exceptional by designing and building a most realistic training environment for the H175 helicopter platform. We are more than proud to help fill a gap in training availability and advance sustainability by offering ultra-realistic simulated training.”

With a dedication for safety, this project between the European companies will further strengthen the simulation and training solutions for operators worldwide. Both simulators will be certified to EASA and FAA Level D, along with other major Aviation authorities such as UK CAA, TC, and GACA.

COPTERSAFETY IS UPGRADING THEIR AW169 FULL FLIGHT SIMULATOR TO AVIONICS PHASE 8

COPTERSAFETY IS UPGRADING THEIR AW169 FULL FLIGHT SIMULATOR TO AVIONICS PHASE 8

HELSINKI, Finland – Coptersafety announced that they are upgrading their TRU Odyssey H AW169 Full Flight Simulator to Avionics phase 8. The simulator is estimated to be ready by the Q4 of 2024.

Head of FSTD at Coptersafety, Toni Rönnberg, said “I’m pleased to announce that Coptersafety is upgrading its TRU AW169 FFS to the latest Avionics phase 8 this year. This will ensure our customers can use the latest avionics and features to support their training.”

Coptersafety is an independent helicopter pilot training provider for commercial, government, and private organizations. With a mission to improve safety in the rotor-wing industry, Coptersafety provides simulator training for pilots from around the world.

The TRU Odyssey H AW169 full flight simulator is Coptersafety’s most recent simulator, installed in 2020 and operational since early 2021. The simulator has extended Coptersafety’s options of training scenarios and operational training for AW169 helicopter operations.

Coptersafety is continuously working to improve and standardize training, while fulfilling demands and exceeding expectations of their customers. With the increasing use of the AW169 aircraft by operators, the upgrade to Avionics phase 8 will provide a higher-level of training for current and future customers.

Due to the lengthy process of upgrading the avionics in a full flight simulator, Coptersafety’s AW169 full flight simulator will be unavailable for training starting from April of 2024.

The AW169 full flight simulator with Avionics phase 8 is scheduled to be ready by Q4 of 2024. The upgraded full flight simulator will initially be authorized by EASA and UK CAA, followed by the FAA and Transport Canada, and others as required.

Coptersafety is an independent helicopter pilot training provider for commercial, government, and private organizations. Our mission is to improve safety in the rotor-wing industry. Coptersafety is continuously working to improve and standardize training, while fulfilling demands and exceeding expectations of our customers.

Two years ago, Coptersafety initially received their FAA approval as a Part-142 Training Center, making them the first independent international helicopter simulator Part 142 Training Center in Northern Europe. And a year ago Coptersafety’s H145 D-2 full flight simulator became the first to be qualified to Level D by the FAA outside the United States, as well as the first H145 simulator qualified for NVG training tasks outside the United States.

Coptersafety’s H145 Level-D full flight simulator is currently equipped with Helionix Step 2 avionics. It offers immersive and realistic training features such as cockpit vibration, smoke generation, 3D clouds, night, and NVIS/NVG visual scenes. Scenarios can be taken from known geographical locations and landing sites by creating scenes in a wide variety of gaming areas and fields of operation. Different visual environments in known geographic locations and landing sites can be customized by our in-house visual model team based on customer requests.

Pilots and crews can now book to train in our FAA qualified Level-D H145 full flight simulator for all their training, testing, and checking, as well as NVG training tasks, among others. In addition to our FAA approved training programs, Coptersafety also offers H145 Initial and Recurrent NVG training, and H145 Maintenance Check Flight training.

Coptersafety provides simulator training for helicopter pilots around the world. Coptersafety’s Training Center is easily accessible from North America, Asia, and the Middle East with its convenient location only four minutes from Helsinki International Airport in Finland. Coptersafety is a FAA, EASA, GACA, CAAT, and UK Training Center / Approved Training Organization (ATO), among others.
