FAA Flight Simulator Instructors AW139 and H145 D-2

Coptersafety is seeking experienced Flight Instructors who have a passion for their work and who see training as a key factor for improving the safety of helicopter operations.

Your task will be to deliver high standard training on FAA ATP, Type Rating, Initial, Recurrent, and other training courses for customers in Coptersafety’s AW139 or H145 Full Flight Simulators.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain Instructor qualifications in accordance with Coptersafety processes and procedures.
  2. Keep current all certificates, ratings, and designations required to perform duties as a Flight Simulator Instructor.
  3. Maintain Coptersafety standards of instructional delivery with corresponding levels of subject matter knowledge.
  4. Develop, utilize, maintain, and revise training lesson plans in accordance with Coptersafety standards.
  5. Assist in completing and revising training syllabi and curriculums.
  6. Deliver training to Coptersafety clients in accordance with processes and procedures.
  7. Provide pre / post-briefings before and after each simulator session in accordance with Coptersafety standards.
  8. Prepare classrooms and/or Flight Simulators and set up training materials prior to scheduled course start times, and simulator sessions.
  9. Utilize customer’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Checklists when required.
  10. Attend scheduled meetings and company training events.
  11. Assist in keeping all publications used in training current.
  12. Ensure classrooms, flight training devices (FTDs), and scheduled simulators are ready for client training events.

Required Experience (AW139)

  1. FAA ATP Certificate, Rotorcraft – Helicopter, with AW139 Type Rating – no limitations or restrictions
  2. FAA Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI / CFII), Rotorcraft – Helicopter
  3. Recent experience as a Part 142 TCI/TCE and/or Part 135 Check Airman preferred
  4. NVG Experience preferred
  5. Fluent in English (ICAO Level 5)
  6. Interest in working as a Ground Instructor in AW139 ATP, Type Rating, and Recurrent training when needed
  7. Available for instructor tasks at least 6 days per month
  8. Willingness and ability to travel

Required Experience (H145 D-2)

  1. FAA Commercial Certificate, Rotorcraft – Helicopter, with Instrument Helicopter Rating
  2. FAA Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI / CFII), Rotorcraft – Helicopter
  3. H145 (BK117 D-2) experience
  4. Minimum of 2000 hours total time in helicopters
  5. Valid Medical Certificate
  6. Operational experience in one or more of the following helicopter operations preferred:
    • Offshore
    • SAR
    • HEMS
    • VIP
    • Military
  7. Recent experience as a Part 142 TCI/TCE and/or Part 135 Check Airman preferred
  8. FAA ATP Certificate, Rotorcraft – Helicopter preferred
  9. NVG experience preferred
  10. Fluent in English (ICAO Level 5)
  11. Interest in working as a Ground Instructor in H145 ATP, Initial, and Recurrent training when needed
  12. Available for instructor tasks at least 6 days per month
  13. Willingness and ability to travel
