H145 Theoretical Ground Instructor

Coptersafety is seeking experienced Theoretical Knowledge Ground Instructors who have a passion for their work as an instructor, and who see training as a key factor for improving the safety of helicopter operations.

Your task will be to deliver high-standard ground school training for Type Rating and Recurrent Training Courses on H145 helicopters.

Required Qualifications

• Formal recognized Instructor Course
• Qualified (or formerly qualified) as Engineer or Pilot
• Team Player
• Fluent in English
• Available for ground instruction tasks at least 6 days per month

Required Experience

• 2 years experience as a ground school instructor
• 3 years of operational experience as a pilot, engineer, or ground instructor on H145

Preference will be given to candidates who:

• Have additional experience on AW139, AW169 and/or H125
• Have experience working for an ATO or a Part 142 Training Center

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM BRINGS OUR INSTRUCTORS TO YOU

Our EASA-approved courses are designed to enable you to avoid travel and save time away from home by replacing traditional in-classroom theoretical ground school conducted at the Coptersafety Training Center, with instructor-led online ground school conducted in our virtual classrooms. Training includes live instruction with Coptersafety Instructors, and interactive presentations and discussions. Pilots entering a Type Rating course must complete the theoretical knowledge exam prior to beginning simulator training and shall pass the required skill test within a period of 6-months after the course has commenced.

COPTERSAFETY’S TRU ODYSSEY H SIMULATOR FOR AW169 PILOTS HAS NOW BEEN INSTALLED AND IS EXPECTED TO BE OPERATIONAL BY MARCH 2021.

The installation of the new Full-Flight Simulator is well on its way. After completing the installation and the series of flight tests, evaluation, and approval of the EASA compliance authorities will take place.

HELSINKI, FINLAND – Coptersafety started the installation of its next Full-Flight simulator at the beginning of summer 2020, and it is estimated to be ready for training at the beginning of 2021. The installation work is done in cooperation with the experts from TRU Simulation + Training and Rockwell Collins, which are responsible for delivering Coptersafety’s past simulators.

“We started the construction project of the simulator at the beginning of summer 2020. Now, despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic we’ve managed to move onto the next stage of flight tests, which is currently on its way. At this point, it looks very promising. If everything goes according to the plan, we are expecting the simulator to be ready for Traficom; the Finnish CAA, evaluation in February 2021.” states Kim Rognli, the AW169 Lead Instructor at Coptersafety.

ADDRESSING THE TRAINING NEEDS OF THE HELICOPTER OPERATORS

Despite it being a relatively new machine, there is already a significant amount of AW169 operators within the aviation market. The simulator training, however, is lagging behind, with only one simulator existing in the world at the moment. That compared to the other helicopter types in sectors such as energy, transportation, and security services.

“With a new TRU Odyssey H Full Flight Simulator, Coptersafety can extend its offer of training scenarios and operational training for AW169 multi-engine helicopter operations for yet another helicopter type. I believe that by now we are already known for the quality of our training services and with the AW169 we also aim to achieve the same level of professionalism and excellence.

When the training is not limited to a set of emergencies, it becomes more efficient and realistic, and therefore, can better prepare the pilots for the missions ahead. Using flight simulators in training also reduces risks associated with hazardous training scenarios, e.g., flight training for a loss of hydraulic power, or engine fire.” stated Mikko Kallio, the head of Training at Coptersafety.

Even though our simulator is expected to be ready for training at the end of February, the booking is already open for AW169 pilots and operators through Coptersafety’s sales department.
